In Thailand, cervical cancer affects more women than you might think.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n \u2022 It is the 2nd most frequent cancer among women aged 15-44<\/strong> in Thailand1<\/sup>
<\/strong>\u2022 Approximately 1 <\/strong>Thai woman loses her life to cervical cancer every 2 hours<\/strong>1<\/sup>

Who is at risk? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n Around 34%<\/strong> of young Thai women have had sexual intercourse before they are 17 years old<\/strong>. More than half of them also reported having unprotected sex.2<\/sup><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n Such unsafe sexual practices not only put Thai women at risk of HPV infections and cervical cancer,3<\/sup> but their risk also heightens with each new partner they acquire throughout their lifetime.4<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n For most people, HPV clears on its own.<\/strong> But for those who don’t clear the virus, it can cause certain cancers and diseases.<\/p>\n\n <\/article>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
